Veneers are ultra-thin shells of ceramic or resin material that are bonded to the fronts or backs of the teeth – much in the way artificial nails attach to the fingers. Application typically requires reshaping of the teeth so the teeth must be structurally sound. “No-prep” veneers, which do not require modifications to the tooth structure, may be an option for some patients. No-prep veneers are placed on the front surface of the tooth.
